I took another pic for you so you can see the amount of rise and forward placement. My stem is +1 1/4" so that's how I got some rise. I used the risers to gain the rest, but yes they are mostly to get them forward. I think it steers way better, it feels like it takes less effort, my arms don't get near as tired and they are in a much more comfortable position for me.
