Default EHS LID... the HP cost of the additional protection

Some guys like to run the EHS air lids for more protection from dirt/mud/ water debris gettin into the air box and eventually on to the air filter....
when your lookin for power that is gonna cost u some...

the build..

stock bore 700 with duals, pc3, piston , cam , tb, pro design intake

with and without EHS lid,,,,

little over 1 hp loss peak and 2 hp in the mid rpm...with the lid on

Have you done a similar comparison with the pro-tec lid?

I love my EHS lid, hate cleaning the filter and the lid extends my filter's cleanliness. Good info Daniel, I pretty much expected this loss but the extra protection I get on the kinds of trails I ride is worth it.

dang i never saw this

honestly thats not to bad the loss is less on a lower hp bike on a 60 hp bike thats starting to flow pretty well the plate size we use on the 700's is a little small for a 60 hp build. On a 3 mod or 4 mod you would generally see less than a 1hp loss with the lid at most and almost none everywhere

ya for sure daniel, i mean it costs 1hp to run, that is great, i mean for the added protection and less maintenance 1 hp aint to bad. plus for the guys who need these i wouldnt think they are in that section of the powerband to often.
