Default TESTING PARTS AND ITS EFFECTS

WE here @ HIGH DESERT DYNO try to offer our customers and the consumer the most knowledge they can get on the products they are interested in and the new stuff on the market.

Being the sole survivor in this fashion we are put in a tight spot a lot of times between a rock and a hard place. The two being the products we test and the manufactures feelings.

We feel it is always best to offer HONEST and UNBIAST test on a product and show its true gains or losses, though the manufacture may not like the results it will push them to produce better products, or with good results will bump the sales of a good performing product.

Companies will get mad, upset, angry, and enraged.....there will be DRAMA

Consumers will get better parts, performance, and prices.....

We could easily keep our testing results to ourselves and for our customers here locally and let the consumer chose a product based off the (most often) un-edjucated pitch of a sales person who wants to sell any thing and everything to make a buck, putting the consumers bikes performance in the balance.

IMO: Dont make a part/component if you do not want it tested and compared to others, because it will happen.

To save face and to not run into the issue of a part performing poorly vs another in its class R&D and testing should be done before a product is released for sale to the public

Personally we believe that HIGH DESERT DYNO has brought the raptor community to a higher performing level as a whole with testing of different product, PIPE SHOOTOUTS and performance packages with proven results.

SO U GUYS MAKE THE CALL

Would u like us to keep testing products for the consumers better knowledge
or should we shut it down and keep the boards clear of the drama, and the knowledge to ourselves

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!!!

make your choice wisely

I have no business buying parts or needing anything from those who are involved in all of this, BUT as long as you provide factual and real results with comparing products(which I believe you do) then I dont see why stop testing.

It can only be helpful for those who really matter, and that is US, the consumers. Just my 2 cents

thanks MIKE,

one simply statement may have change my whole thinking..... stop giving up the goods and lets go win some races!!!

Being that we have nothing more to prove and having some of the fastest bikes come thru our hands i think it may be time to call it quits and keep the power tricks to ourselves and our customers...

there will still be the occasional dyno posts for the trail duners combo...

no more riding off my tails....

If the consumer wants to spend money where it counts they can drop a line to a 951 number!!!

Thanks,

DANIEL

Could you please expand on that Daniel? That can be read a couple different ways.

I know there are many here that do race, but I think most fall under the duner/trail category. This is what I'm most interested in.

I have purchased items for you for two reasons:

1. You've helped me and others out countless times without even being a customer of yours. You were the one who responded to my posts asking for help. You were the one who went the extra mile.
2. You posted dyno charts comparing different parts to make the decision making process easier for me. I couldn't get straight answers out of anyone. With your dyno sheets, it made the decision very clear which product fit MY needs.

Examples:
- You posted dyno comparisons between stock YFZ450R vs. pulling the s/a out and adding an FCI. Because of this, I purchased the FCI from you for my cousin's YFZ450R.
- You posted dyno charts comparing the 5050 to other cams. Because of this, I purchased the 5050 cam from you.
- You posted dyno charts comparing FCI vs other intakes. Because of this, I purchased the FCI from you for my rappy.

I could have gone anywhere and purchased these items. Because you took these extra steps above and beyond your competition, I was happy to give you the business. You earned it.

I know there are secrets to gaining a hp here and a hp there. That, I believe understand be a secret amongst builders when racing. However, the trail/duner guys do very much benefit from your comparisons. I sincerely hope these continue.

we will continue to post on products for the trail duner bikes, and their performance gains, but will become limited, we will continue to sell only the best products on the market,,, if u have a question on a product we have not posted abut then just give us a call...

every part has its place and its purpose, some of those places are sitting on a shelf and not on a bike

If i were a company that was in the manufacturing buisness of making performance products for ATVs. And did not have the capabilities to test my products my self, I would hire a company like high desert dyno to test my products for me with the results kept confidential until i was satisfied with the results of my products. Now this practice is standard in most all other performance industries. Boats, nascar, saftey equipment, etc, etc.. Now when these steps of research and develpment are not takin by the company who is putting there name on these products they can expect nothing less than to be labeled as ineffective, cheap, crap, etc, etc, and not to be expected to last very long as a company... When reserch is not done by the manufacturer they better believe that some one else is going to do it for the rest of the public to see..... This is just a simple fact of being in the manufacturing buisness of any kind.. and i repeat ANY KIND... This post is not directed toward any person or company... just a statement of facts. So to the consumer it is o.k. to ask alot of questions from alot of different people when buying your parts. And it is always o.k. to pay a little more from a company with a good reputation because that is what you are paying for piece of mind that it is not a piece of shit and they stand behind there product. So in my opinion test away..

Hey Daniel,

The tests and dyno sheets you've posted have served a purpose beyond helping the masses go faster. I think it also gives you credibility for the folks who don't know you. It's certainly one of the reasons I decided it would be worth paying for you to do a tune on my stockish bike and I'm VERY happy I did.

There is a reason people choose to deal with you and I'm sure you get many repeat customers. I know I'll be back as the mods stack on.
