I was talking with Dave about the Needle bearing kit he offered for his arms. He said they create less wear on the bushings. He didnt have to say much else, I was already sold.
Here is the kit i received from Dave. Enough to do both lower arms and both uppers. And new inner sleeves. The uppers take 2 bearings and the lowers take 1 each. ![]() I started by taking the bushings and sleeves out of the upper arms. And cleaned up the tube where the bearings would be pressed into. ![]() After they were good and clean. I grabbed the bearings and coated them with white lithium grease as Dave recommended. ![]() And also coated the inside of the arm tube itself. ![]() I put the bearing in the tube and lightly tapped it flush. Then i grabbed a 14mm socket and seated the bearing into the tube just far enough so the bushing would fit after it. ![]() ![]() ![]() After installing the bushings i coated the bearings and the inner tube with more white lithium grease. Then reinstall the sleeve and caster shims. And your done. (caster shims not pictured) ![]() I did not have a chance to do the lowers as of yet. But the install is the same besides the lowers only take 1 bearing positioned in the center of the arm tube. I would recommend this kit when ordering arms from JD performance. Its a cheap upgrade to standard bushings and will extend the life greatly of the bushings upper and lower. Last edited by Jamie700R; 07-21-2009 at 04:33 PM. |
