Well when you install the pilots I would first test your float bowl levers via the Clear tube method.

Also, if I put the 25's in what setting should the air fuel screws be at to start out?
is it 2 or 2.5 turns out?

edit: im pretty sure with 25's its 2.5 turns out

Got it put together for the most part. I ended up going to 27.5's on the pilots ,160 and 165 on the mains, took the exhaust apart, re-adjusted the float levels, & trimmed the intake boots. Fired it up but wasn't able to ride it due to the down poor we had all day. Did however rev it up in the garage and it seemed to rev nicely. Can't wait for it to dry up enough to go try it out. Will let you know how it runs.

thank for everyones input especially Freez's post
I learned more from this forum than the dealership could or would tell me

It on one of the last qoutes on Freez's posts(Just though I would try it)

Then, if you like to go a step further, and release even more hidden horsepower. Remove the carbs, and feel inside those rubber intakes. You will feel that they are not matched to the intake ports. Get a Dremel tool, with a 80 grid sanding drum, and open those rubber boots up, so that they match the intake ports perfectly. Do this in stages, and with caution, and take your time, I you mess this up you will need new intake boots. Once done, clean them very well with fuel, and install them back where they came from, followed by the carbs.

Took it out this weekend and was very impressed. I was able to run most of the trails in second and third gear and even smoked a piped yfz 450 3 times on the drag strip.had one problem though , when I jumped it or went over big whoops it would sometimes cut out if you tried to blip the throttle. not all the time just every now and then.Any ideas?

I have a 2005 660 stock. Had trouble starting with a new starter housing, battery, and stock CDI. took it to the shop and the guy told me it was the flywheel. he adjusted it and "fixed" it without replacing it. now it backfires after 2 turnovers and immediately if i touched the throttle. the higher the choke the sooner it'd backfire. it also has wear on the crank but the guy is insisting that he can fix it before buying a new one. is this a good route to follow? it wouldn't have anything to do with gaskets would it?

First it the carbs on the intake boots good? I would also contact the shop to see why after they worked on it this starts.
