Default Homemade dual exhaust...

So...has anyone made their own dual in-frame pipes? there doesn't appear to be a whole lot of differences between systems to us weekend warriors. I respect the guys out there making them for a living, that is great. quite frankly it doesn't make since to me to drop 500-700 into exhaust on a $1000 8yr old bike.
So...I have access to SS pipe, multiple tubing benders and SS piping welders. What to do for a can/muffler? Can I buy any set of crotchrocket mufflers and attach them to my SS head pipes?
I see guys running open pipes, so obviously there isn't as much tuning in the pipe like there is in a 2 stroke.
For the record, I don't want it that loud either.

Lets, see some homeade set-ups!

You can build them to mate to most cans/mufflers on the market I would think. HArd to say what might be best though with whatever you come up with for pipes, but most the power gained is really from the pipes, not the can, so that might be kind of up to what you think looks good.

Thanks Seg. I think I heard you say that you built yours.
There was a thread on one of these website where someone listed pipe diameters. Do you recall that?
I want smaller cans, but I want a quiet core.

I seem to recall the thread, but don't remember even what site it was on

Mine are one-off custom, but I didn't make them. Unfortunately I haven't got those kinda skills

Hey Sandracer,

I have been tossing around the idea of buying some Carbon fiber cans for my barker duals, but this first would require me to sell my original barkers cans....would u be interested?

Yeah thats funny...most of us are members of all the raptor forums and check them all religiously. Don't see the need to block the links.

Sounds pretty cool, You got any pics of those cans?
