    Raptor 660 2002 won’t start

    Hello fellas

I have a raptor 660 2002 I recently bought. It worked fine when I bought it.
The guy I bought it from said he rebuild the motor and made it a 720 ish.
But he left everything else factory. I used it to go to durhamtown and it road fine. Once I got back I decide to upgrade everything else. I bought a full exhaust from Bug guns evo and a k&N filter. I know I will still have to jet it. I started it a few time and rode around the block. I went to go started one day and when I hit the start button it sounded like the starter went bad. I looked in to it and was told that it was the starter clutch. So I replaced it. The problem is now it won’t start. The engine turns over but won’t start. I put a new spark plug and still nothing. It has spark. And I could smell fuel out the exhaust. But won’t start.

I had the same exact problem on mine. Wouldn’t start after the starter clutch replacement. Try unplugging the rectifier/regulator and starting it. Unplugging mine worked, but wouldn’t charge the battery when unplugged. I think either my stator was bad, or I messed it up when replacing the starter clutch. Let us know if it works!

I would throw that K&N in the garbage unless you plan to rebuild it again. Fine dust goes right through them. They really are not meant for offroad unless you are riding in sand.

    Coop we miss you brother..

+2^. I’ve always ran foam filters. Especially with a no lid, and remembering to oil it frequently.
