So I got my raptor the other day and it was in rough shape. Well I rebuilt the carb and changed the oil the filter and painted so that's all good now.The electrical however is a different story. The electric start apparently crapped out so the previous owners decided to hack up the wires. The only way they could start it was too touch the top posts of the solenoid. I want to rewire in a new electric start, but it's pretty bad. Lots of cut wires and wires crimped to new wires.... basically what I need to know is what wires do I need to focus on? Anyone lend some advise??

I would actually price a full replacement harness at your local Yamaha dealer. Last time I bought one for a Banshee years ago it was around $150. That is a very low price compared to the time and effort and frustration you will spend trying to fix the old one.

Yeah I think that would be a good idea... I'm already pretty frustrated with it. Thanks for the input.
