Long time reader - First time writer...
New to the raptors. So excuse my ignorance..
I picked up an 06' in the fall. It was smoking and burning oil. All stock. I bought a wiseco rebuild kit. New piston/rings/seals/etc.
Ive got it all back together today... still smoking!!
Any ideas or suggestions would really help.
I triple checked my ring gaps and placement before reassembly - all to wiseco spec. I reused the old valves and springs - just new seals.
The old cylinder had significant wear, so I bought a "new" used jug off ebay. Carrier bearing was solid.
I ran it for 30 minutes. Let it cool. Checked valve clearances again.
Still smoking..
Any pros out there with good ideas? I'd hate to rip this thing all apart again to find nothing wrong with my work.

Just in case anyone is following...
It was the old muffler...
It burned so much oil thru it, the packing was saturated. It was just smoking out all of the old oil it absorbed. I slipped off the pipe, and ran it without.. bam! no more smoke.
