Anyone try taking apart the stock gas tank to remove the fuel pump and installing it in an aluminum tank or anything like that? I would like to purchase a Raptor 700 because I feel it would be the best quad for the long distance racing I do, but the fuel capacity is just too small. There has to be someone out there that got creative with this. Is there much room on a Raptor for an oversize tank anyhow? Can you hook up an external fuel pump outside of the tank? Someone has got to have tried this!!!

i have read about this before and it was said that yamaha stuffed the biggest tank possible that you could have without removing plastics and interfering with the handlebars

there was one guy trying to do them but fucked a bunch of ppl. from what i hear there is not enough room for a good ammount of improvement.

I think if you were creative enough you could make a bigger one. There is what i would say about 1 and 1/2 to 2 inches the gastank could be extended down between the frame rails as long as you insulate and leave a channel for the throttle cable. And maybe some in front. But i am to lazy to do all that and you will only get a half gallon or so. But in racing doesnt every little bit help. I will just lift the gas can more till someone else makes one.

Nope. Along with a high output stator, it is just one of those things that aftermarket companies won't produce. And I hate it.

couldnt you kust put a r1 tank under the plastics they do it all the time with the r1/r6 conversions?

No they don't do that all the time.
