My wife has a Alba Pro Elite stick style steering stabilizer. I am wondering if anyone has any experience in rebuilding them? I have ordered the rebuild kit for it. I have taken out the snap rings that hold the seals in, removed the seals and drained the oil. But that is about where the obvious stuff to do to take it apart stops. I looked on the web how to rebuild that specific one or any of the stick style ones but didn't find anything.

If anyone has any input or a link to someplace to find some info, that would be great.

(I'm actually Hechtor's wife) didn't get the rebuild kit yet... when he ordered it, the lady didn't know if it came with directions or not. So he was wanting to rip it apart before the kit actually gets here. Hopefully it does come with some kind of directions though. Should be here Monday anyway.

I got the repair kit today. Unfortunately there were not any direction in it. I also have to tear it completely apart to change the seals and other items but I cannot get it apart. I tried calling the company but apparently they were closed for President's Day. Guess I will try again tomorrow.

Well I figured out how to tear the stabilizer apart. I tore it all down and replaced all the parts they gave me in the kit. It went back together fairly smoothly just have to pay attention to how things come apart. But I still have not been able to get it working properly. I have filled it with oil and put everything back together and when you turn the quad to the right it dampens correctly depending on what setting you have it on. But when turning it back to the left there is absolutely no resistance. So have I torn it apart several times to try to figure it out. I have called the tech at Alba Action sports again and also a tech at Streamline and they say I have air in it which is causing it. I know this isn't the case though because I fill the thing up completely with oil before I put any of the parts back in it so there is not chance air could be trapped in the stabilizer. So at this point the wife is going to have to buy a new stabilizer. I know I won't waste my money on one of these type again. The only other thing I can think of is something is broke and I am not seeing it. The principle of how it works is very simple and easy to figure out so I am pretty sure I am not missing anything.
