ok ok i know i will hear well search it. we get this alot.. but this is my first day i dont know how to navigate the site yet. none of the post may not be exactly what i am wanting to ask and ok to be honest im a chick and not sure where to start anyways. So if ya all can please be nice and give me your opinion.. So i have a 2009 raptor 700r. my husband who owns a couple wheelers he is setting up to race told me to ask the forum (he doesnt own a raptor). once i have my baby i am considering getting into small drag racing events. nothing pro where i have to do all the mega bucks but i want to open up some of the power to my wheeler. It is completely stock. I was thinking of DMC dual exhausts because they are hot looking and ive been told are good quality exhausts. my issue is i know i will need a power commander and to open my air box to help it out. but i want a really good quality single or dual exhaust that is quiet. I hate the really loud exhausts drives me nuts.. I know i know once i go away from stock i will have a louder exhaust but i dont want anything loud like a dasa.if anyone can give me advice on what they think i should go with or at least if anyone has the DMC and knows if its a good quality or has had issues. anything will be good. I dont want a slip on because that wont do much for me

Welcome to the site.. It's worse than a crack addiction so beware. Get the DMC force four's, not the afterburners. They are not obnoxious like a 450's exhaust, if they are order some quiet cores and it will take care of it. Also get a PowerCommander 3 or 5 don't skimp here this will be the base of the build. I would also look into getting a good intake to let it breathe. FCI is the best, but are spendy. If you don't wanna go that route one of the billet intakes will suit you fine.. If you want to open up a little more power you can throw in a Hotcam's stage 2 or add a 11.5:1 Tech piston and Hotcam's Stage III. That will make it a fun bike to ride, till you want more.

Welcome to the site :beerchug: Generally the best pipes tend to be loud, though duals are usually quieter than single pipes. The DMC's are a great choice :thumb:

Check out some of the Raptor Big 3 (Duals, intake, fuel programmer) package deals at TechQuadShop.com there's some killer deals there.

Without breaking the bank, a PC3 (or PC5), a Monsterflow intake and a set of duals will set you up great for a while.

ONe you get used to riding with those (if you're still looking for more speed) you can throw in a performance cam and a higher compression piston for another nice bump without losing much reliability.

After that, it starts getting expensive: Headwork, Bigger bore, Stroker Cranks, Bigger Throttle Bodies, higher compression (race gas) pistons, etc...

I would get the big 3 for now and see how you feel with that. If you still aren't happy with it, but not ready to throw crazy money at it - focus on your setup (gearing, tires, ride height, etc. )

the general consensus on trinity I've read on the forums is

I don't know what your definition of loud is for aftermarket exhaust, but they will all be much louder than your stocker.

I've had a 2 bros slip on, Sparks x-6 big core, CT, & GYTR. I run the Barker duals now.

Sparks is MEGA loud, dyno proven to make the most power, I didn't have it long enough to get it dynoed. CT is "tuneable" with the discs, but some don't like that look. Very light, has heat shield, and makes very good power, within 1hp of my duals when I was big 3 with hotcams stage 2. GYTR was pricey and made the least power out of the 3 full systems I had. Even with the quiet cap it was no quieter than the CT and was 4 hp less on the dyno and noticeably slower when riding. To wake it up you have to run the race tip and it's over 100db. Others on the forum have had better luck with the GYTR, but it was a sheer disappointment to me after the other exhausts I had.

I went to duals because that's what I wanted and they are 94db with quiet cores which I run and I think they sound the best by far out of all the exhausts I've had. It's nice to ride in places with no noise restrictions and remove the quiet cores and feel a power increase too! If I were to get another single, I'd get a CT again, I liked it, perfect combo for me for power and sound.

I'd look into the HMF's, lots of options, good power increase, very reasonable prices & they have quiet cores.

What ever you do, get a full system and not just a slip on. slip on will give you some sound and a little power, the full system is where the power is at.

with a freer flowing exhaust you are going to have to open up the intake as well. You are for sure going to need a fuel controller then so you don't run lean. check out the big 3 setups site sponsors like tqs have. buy all at once, hook it all up at once and it'll be setup good and then ride!!!

first off AL2FAST i love the description you have at the bottom.. but to respond back to everyone i dont plan on getting a slip on for the money i'd spend on a slip on i wont get what i want out of it and might as well spend the extra on full system (best for the quad) if im gonna do it might as well do it right the first time. my husband has a honda 450r now a (480 or 490) and a suzuki ltr. honda has a dasa and suzuki has a yoshimura.. ( i know some people dont like other brands but i love all wheelers as long as its a comfy ride). the dasa to me is way too loud i know no matter what it will be louder then stock but i think i have noise restrictions in my area but i dont know 100%. i like to be able to hear the other quads around me and my surroundings. also i would like to know what is the highest compression piston i can go with that i can still use pump gas and not like race fuel.

haha thanks!:thumb:

with your 100db limit that should still give you a lot of choices with a quiet core option. find some that you like and post them on up and you'll get plenty of opinions on them!

Like recommended, 11.5:1 is safe on pump gas. I don't have the complete knowledge, but I know elevation plays a factor as well as cam selection for how much compression you can use on pump gas. I know Tim Barker was running at least 12:1 with the RHC cam (I believe) when I was out a Silver Lake last year. I personally run 11:1. My elevation i ride is normally around 800ft. some places only have 87 and I have had no problems running that, but it's usually 2/3 of a tank here or there, otherwise I run 91 or 93.

Dasa actually makes duals for the 700 now as well. Should be MUCH quieter than the Dasa singles, but I haven't really heard much about them at all. No reviews yet that I've seen.

TechQuadShop.com carries a nice 11.5:1 pump gas piston that would be a nice little bump for you in compression. They also have some good 'Big 3' package deals :thumb:

OK i was wrong the husband said it was a motoworks SR-4 exhaust he wanted me to look into.. im not really looking for the absolute best performance, my big thing is i want an aftermarket that isnt too loud but can give me some more boost...so probably be between HMF.. .DMC.. and motoworks..

HMF sucks IMO. Alot of ppl in my area run them since they are local to Ohio, but they are loud and the customer support sucks. I know several ppl that had their's fall apart and HMF doesn't care.
